I put "eduaction" in quotes becasue these activities are promotional (ie. FDA-regulated) rather than educational but pharma companies don't say to physicians "come to our promotional meeting where Dr. X will speak." They say "come to this educational presentation by Dr. X."<BR/><BR/>All this shouldn't divert attention from my MAIN point, which is that there is a lot of attention being paid by pharma about being transparent regarding their "independent" CME activities (eg, Lilly's grant registry), but none are being transparent about their promotional physician consulting fees.PharmaGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10211557578124130640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-44068179852629909432007-05-10T22:05:00.000-04:002007-05-10T22:05:00.000-04:00JohnGet your story straight. This begs the transparency issue--pharma companies probably need to do a better job of educating everyone about how they support independent CME, and what the regs are for NON-independent speaker programs which are promotionalAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
