That's what makes me different! Duh!

Also, when I make a promise, I keep it.

If you want to know more about how I feel about the pharmaceutical industry and my mission, see "I'm Non-objective and Proud of It!"

Now, tell me something about who YOU are, Mr. "anomymous".PharmaGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10211557578124130640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-46746848116657564172007-07-28T10:44:00.000-04:002007-07-28T10:44:00.000-04:00You sound like an angry person who finds fault wit...You sound like an angry person who finds fault with nearly everything a pharmaceutical company does. You write about your disdain for DTC advertising for Lunesta and act like Sepracor (as well as Sanofi Aventis with Ambien) is "creating" a disease in order to hook people on a drug that they do not need when the companies talk of growing the market.

Maybe you should consider that many people, and perhaps the majority, think that it is just "normal" to have insomnia and to only get a few fitful hours of sleep. While DTC advertising is, indeed, mostly about driving sales, it is also about educating people that there is something they can take for certain conditions that they've had for many years that they've just come to accept. What is wrong with that? Why is it "bad" for pharmaceutical companies to seek a profit? Are they not a business? We now live in a time where pharmaceutical companies are on the defensive because they make money. So what? Wal-Mart makes money on things that people need for survival - food and clothing. Are they evil? Well, if you ask the loony leftists, Wal-Mart is evil so perhaps that is a bad example. For shame! Wal-Mart actually provides their goods for just about the best prices available. How dare they do such a thing!

As I said in the early part of this post, you sound like a disgruntled former pharma employee. I am sorry it didnt work out for you. But, not all pharma companies are evil. Are there some that clearly have done criminal things? You bet! See Purdue pharma for exhibit one.

But, it seems your objective is to curb profits and when you start dictating how much money a company (any sector, not just pharma) can make then it stifles research and development. If companies are not allowed to pursue profits then what is their incentive to conduct research into new, lifesaving products?

I suspect you make money, somehow, off your life's work of lambasting pharmaceutical companies. Which goes to show you that the almight dollar is in the thoughts of everyone's mind. What makes you any different from Sanofi or Sepracor?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
