In ...Maybe yes - but in other hand with what costs. In my opinion the way that we're dealing with flu right now is very good, and there is not a lot more that we can do. Universal Medicine for flu? That would be something, but is possible? I can agree with one of the comments - there is a lot of more important problems to deal with right now.

Maybe I'ma bit paranoid as well, but I think that it isn't good for syndicates to create drugs like You wish. Money, money and money - that what matters. Costs of network marketing, distribution are high, but they are paying back. Making universal medicine won't be the same.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00983784920404737143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-80001825814221696342013-02-01T18:32:10.519-05:002013-02-01T18:32:10.519-05:00Currently, 271 people a day - the equivalent of on...Currently, 271 people a day - the equivalent of one airline crash - will die from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) such as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
• According to the Centers for Disease Control:
o About 1.8 million patients suffer annually from care-related infections
o HAIs are the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S.!!
o HAIs will kill 99,000 people this year;
So far, 20 children have died from the flu in 2013.. The CDC does not keep count of adult deaths but estimates the flu kills about 24-thousand people every year.(so we force the flu vaccine on millions of people to reduce how many deaths?)(how many elderly who are close to death, get the flu and die a few months earlier than they might have normally?)
o HAIs kill more people than AIDS, breast cancer and auto accidents combined.
www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/surveillance/basic.htm#ddaids%20Accessed%20October%2016%202007 www.cancer.org/downloads/STT/CAFF2005BrF.pdf www.car-accidents.com/pages/fatal-accident-statistics.html
In 1974, 2 percent of Staph infections were MRSA. By 2003, that number increased to 57 percent. www.hospitalinfection.org/ridbooklet.pdf
• Hospital-acquired infections account for $40 billion in excess healthcare costs each year.
o 2 million estimated infections per year X $20-25K per infection (Average additional hospital costs
when a patient contracts an infection )= $40 Billion http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dhqp/pdf/Scott_CostPaper.pdf

Reports of dangerous side effects and deaths from widely used medicines almost tripled between 1998 and 2005, an analysis of U.S. drug data found.
The number of deaths and serious injuries from prescription and over-the-counter drugs climbed from 34,966 to 89,842 during the study of reports to the Food and Drug Administration.

Anyone want the government to look into drug-related deaths? Big Pharma doesn't.

Anyone ever wonder why Diabetes has increased at the same time that statin use has multiplied?
Dr. Yunsheng Ma and Annie Culver, consulting pharmacist and first author on the paper, said their study, published Jan. 9, in the Archives of Internal Medicine, showed a nearly 50 percent increased risk of diabetes in postmenopausal women on statin drugs, using data from the Women’s Health Initiative.

Is Pharma really looking to try and reduce the incidence of disease or simply trying to get more people on meds for long-term use to stabilize symptoms?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-47734180610782026912013-01-30T05:55:29.869-05:002013-01-30T05:55:29.869-05:00Even though the virus changes every year, scientis...Even though the virus changes every year, scientists are seeking the portion of the viral antigen that does NOT change. There is evidence that this non-mutating region exists and if a vaccine can be made that mimics this portion, then most mutations will be susceptible to the antibodies that this "universal" vaccine produces.PharmaGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10211557578124130640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-64599519943271253442013-01-29T23:54:46.622-05:002013-01-29T23:54:46.622-05:00That is the least of our worries, a universal flu ...That is the least of our worries, a universal flu vaccine. How about a greater killer- Hospital acquired infections? Remember all the infectious deaths passed on from patient to patient during the Civil War, and this is 2013.
As to the flu, what about the fact that every year there are different viral strains so universal is probably impossible. But you want our gov't to be involved in this? The same govt who can't do anything right and has no idea what balanced means?
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
