A few do it, but most shy away and rightfully so.
2. That google ad is most definitely a PPC ad - so they don't pay for it to display only when someone clicks on it.
3. I agree that Pharma should step out and advertise in something like this - I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to create a branded ad that would run within the app and my guess is that the makers of the app would be glad to test out making a few extra $$ for running the ad. it's at least worth asking. Or run a non-branded ad.
4. Stop giving Rx marketers an out because there aren't specific guidelines. There are advertising guidelines which should be the basis for what everyone does and those guidelines don't change. Branded ad with ISI and link to PI is possible on a mobile screen.
5. Bigger issue is that it seems that Lunesta doesn't have a mobile site.
6. If it were any other company, I'd say no way it would happen but Sunovion is out there at times so you never know. However, if I were betting, I'd say it won't happen.AngryPharmanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-69812499177867682322012-03-29T15:11:44.653-04:002012-03-29T15:11:44.653-04:00Hey John,

Great post on the Sleep Cycle app. I've used it for the past six months and I'm hooked. Have to admit I've been a little paranoid about prolonged radiation exposure (airplane mode is my new best friend). More importantly, you bring up some very poignant questions regarding promotion. It's a brave new world and I am looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

John Wes GreenJohn Wes Greenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03121465535959688208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-87973910685956735512012-03-28T07:58:15.235-04:002012-03-28T07:58:15.235-04:00John this is a great post and besides this sleep a...John this is a great post and besides this sleep app the question continues, which are good app and which are bad apps and who will regulate and certify them.
