FDA could not criticize that.PharmaGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10211557578124130640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-10050678421907244832010-02-19T12:02:25.561-05:002010-02-19T12:02:25.561-05:00I think Pharma should try to have a larger presenc...I think Pharma should try to have a larger presence - but they need to do it by being more "helpful" than by tryin to write more prescriptions.

The challenge is that the FDA is unlikely to allow Pharma to "be more helpful" given the heavy regulatory hand imposed.

Having said that - here is a great example of Pharma trying to be more helpful in the overall context of a condition rather than trying to write one more prescription:

http://www.fibrotogether.com

They are including the full range of treatment options in this presentation - unfortunately they can't include discussions for (I think) obvious reasons. However, they are presenting a valuable resource for the Fibro community.

(disclosure - we did the research work supporting this drug launch - using online anthropology.)

Tom O'BrienTom O'Brienhttp://humanvoice.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-90226376831142072432010-02-19T10:56:08.185-05:002010-02-19T10:56:08.185-05:00Let's separate out the patient-to-patient anec...Let's separate out the patient-to-patient anecdotal conversations, which undoubtedly are very important and influential. Believe me, however, patients appreciate evidence-based info from sources that have scientific data rather at their disposal and not just anecdotal info. Amongst those sources, pharma should have a much larger than 9% share of voice and fill the gap that HCPs may be leaving.PharmaGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10211557578124130640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8550428.post-34089418215747922022010-02-19T10:41:59.896-05:002010-02-19T10:41:59.896-05:00Hi John:

Pharma can contribute lots, but it is not at the center of a patient's view of healthare. It is one tool among many.

Tom O'Brien
MotiveQuest LLC
@tomobTom O'Brienhttp://humanvoice.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
